Anthony Medical Center near capacity with addition of new providers

Family medicine and endocrinology part of expanded options southeast

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016) – New physicians and a nurse practitioner are now accepting new patients at St. Joseph Hospital’s Anthony Medical Center. Two family medicine physicians, an endocrinologist and a nurse practitioner in endocrinology recently joined Lutheran Health Physicians at the healthcare facility located in southeastern Fort Wayne.

Lily Kwatampora, MD, MPH, and Kanika Jaggi, MD, will be available for interviews at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Kwatampora’s office at Anthony Medical Center, 5717 S. Anthony Blvd. Each will discuss their specialties and their eagerness to work in this medically underserved area.

“The new physicians and NP help fill a void of accessible care to the city’s southeast side,” said Kenneth Jones, CEO, St. Joseph Hospital. “St. Joe continues to fulfill its mission to serve all communities, and we’re proud to expand services to residents in the communities we serve.”

Anthony Medical Center has long provided healthcare options for residents living or working in the southeastern part of Fort Wayne. Historically, St. Joe has maintained Lutheran Health Physicians providers at AMC. With the new arrivals, the facility is currently operating close to capacity.

“Dr. Jaggi, Dr. Kwatampora and I are delighted by the opportunity to serve this community,” said Ibad Farooqui, MD, Lutheran Health Physicians. “We strive for excellent care of not only individual patients, but of the overall population we serve. Anthony Medical Center is conveniently located with laboratory and radiology on site. Dr. Jaggi and I can provide primary care to patients of all ages and both genders, and having endocrinology on site means you can receive well-coordinated endocrinology and primary care all in one building.”
