A wide variety of surgical and special procedures are performed regularly at St. Joe in one of the hospitals five ORs. From complex invasive surgeries that require a hospital stay to routine procedures and laparoscopic surgeries performed on an outpatient basis, St. Joe's team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, radiology technicians, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists and nurses—some who have 30 or more years of OR and/or critical care experience—is always ready to handle all types of surgical cases. Routine, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures are some of the most frequently performed outpatient procedures at St. Joe.
Surgeries and procedures are performed at St. Joe in the following areas:
- Ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- Electroconvulsive (ECT)
- Elbow arthroscopy
- Elbow replacements
- Shoulder arthroscopy (for rotator cuff tears and dislocations)
- Total shoulder and reverse total shoulder replacements
- Upper extremity traumatic injuries
- Wrist arthroscopy
- Pain management
St. Joe also offers a burn and wound clinic and a surgery clinic. The burn and wound clinic provides follow-up treatment after surgery, while the surgery clinic offers presurgical consults as well as follow-up care.
